Before coffee ever grew, the hills of Chikmagaluru were only wild forest. Local tellings speak of a boy named Sala and his teacher, the sage Sudatta, walking deep within that canopy; when a tiger broke from the trees. Sala did not run. He stood his ground and struck the animal down on this very ridge.
That single act founded the Hoysala dynasty, which ruled for three centuries. Tiny Tiger is the living legacy of that forest; a continuation of the same spirit that once built a kingdom. We grow our coffee on that same ground today. Our estate in Mudigere sits on the very ground of the legend; the same ridge where the history of this land began.
